@NeutraKris...I applied them dry, no base, with a pencil brush :)
For those considering purchasing these, a preview of my review...they're beautiful shadows which you can see from the swatches. However, they don't last any better of a lasting power than any of MAC's other eyeshadows. They wear the same. Bigger, the same size as a MUFE eyeshadow.
I like the pink and purple :)
