Yes, I finally caved and bought an Urban Decay Naked Palette. I know it's been in high demand and sold out everywhere, but I really never wanted one. However, lately I've been wearing browns and other "naked" colors a lot more. And now I have to admit that I do love it. I've been wearing a lot lately; nearly everyday. However, it's not SO amazing that I understand the obsession over it. Plus, it's a permanent product so if you can't get it now, it's not going anywhere.
Basically, if you're a more wearable makeup kinda person, then this palette is great. If not, it's not a must-have.
Also, I have to add that I really, really wish that Urban Decay had put a matte highlight eyeshadow in this palette. Actually, I'd love it if Urban Decay came out with an all matte Naked palette.... It'd be a lot more "naked" than this one which doesn't really seem naked to me at all. Plus, Urban Decay makes some of the most amazing mattes ever.
Swatches over concealer (NW25)~
Top row: Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked
Bottom Row: Smog, Darkhorse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal
Virgin: An icy cream with a smooth texture. Nice for an inner corner highlight but has too much of an icy, metallic finish to be a browbone highlight.
Sin: A pinked champagne and dupe of MAC Naked Lunch eyeshadow. I definitely prefer this over Virgin.
Naked: A matte, soft, peachy brown. Makes for a great transition color when blending other eyeshadows into your browbone highlight. Also can be used for eyebrows!
Sidecar: A soft, neutral gold with a metallic finish. This shadow does have glitter in it but they're not overly noticeable, nor do they cause a large amount of fallout. One of my favorites in the palette for a soft, everyday smokey eye.
Buck: A medium, matte brown. Another color that is great for filling in brows.
Half Baked: A true gold with a bit of yellow to it. This shadow does have a metallic finish like most of the colors in this palette have. Gorgeous though!
Smog: A metallic bronze with a slight red tone. It would be gorgeous on blue or green eyes.
Darkhorse: A dark golden brown with shimmer. This color looks a bit dirty to me and I don't mean that in a bad way. It makes for a super sultry smokey eye, or dark smudged liner. It's one of my favorites along with Sidecar.
Toasted: A metallic, dark champagne with peach/pink tones. To me it's like a deeper version of Sin. And again, it's a favorite.
Hustle: A plum-brown with a slight shimmer. I shouldn't say "slight" since it's quite obvious, but it's just not as shimmery as the other colors. My final favorite in this palette.
Creep: A soft, but pigmented black. This color does not have a metallic finish, but t does have a slight touch of rainbow colored reflects. These reflects, however, don't translate well in application.
Gunmetal: A metallic blue-toned grey.
So, what do you all think of the Naked Palette? Do you have it...love it or hate it? And are you like me and wish Urban Decay would make an all matte Naked palette?
