Review: Hard Candy Sheer Envy Face Primer

Hard Candy says:
Sheer Envy skin perfecting primer helps to even out the skin while reducing shine. Improves foundation application while minimizing skin imperfections. Make-up lasts longer and skin is left velvety smooth.

$8
at Walmart stores and walmart.com

My Review:
For $8, I was super skeptical of this primer but after using it for 2 weeks now, I have to say that I'm impressed. It works pretty well, if not as well as Smashbox or Too Faced (Tarte still has the best face primer though, in my opinion). It definitely smooths over pores and other imperfections and even helps my makeup last longer without touching up for about 5 or 6 hours (compared to using no primer).

You only need a pea-sized amount for the whole face.

Smooths out beautifully and effortlessly.

Overall, this primer is great and incredibly affordable. It's definitely worth a try!

I will say though that I wouldn't recommend Hard Candy's primer to anyone with excessively oily or breakout prone skin. The texture of this formula is very slick and just seems like it would be terrible for those with either of these 2 skin types. If you do have oily, breakout prone skin I recommend Smashbox Photofinish Light or Philosophy On a Clear Day primer.

Great review, I actually have a sample of this and your right it does what you say until after 5 or 6 hrs depending on the weather I'll get oily in the T-zones and have to touch up. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the review!!! :) I've used Photo Finish Light for the reason you've given, but I haven't tried Philosophy yet. Thanks for the suggestion!

i saw this hard candy primer at walmart the other day and was tempted to try it..didn't want to take the risk of it working terribly =( but...i could definitely use a cheap primer that i can purchase right away after i run out..im using urban decay right now and its pricey for me=(
