Eyes: Colors Galore!

I felt inspired to step out and do something really bold, which I haven't done in a while in my opinion. I wanted to play with tons of colors and throw in something that I normally wouldn't, this time being the gold with such bright accent colors. So here it is! Gold, purple, pink, light blue, and dark blue.

Icy Winter Blues using the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette

It's winter and not icy where I live at all. So, I thought I'd bring winter to my eyes using a mixture of icy, shimmer blues from the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette. I'm not quite sure exactly which colors I used because I did a lot of combining but surely the look can be duplicated with any similar colors.

Also, I got my hair cut! It's not short but I did have about 9 inches cut off, if not more. I love it!

Red and Green Eyes

Not as bright as some would expect, this look was achieved using some gorgeous jeweltones from both Jesse's Girl Cosmetics and MAC. This smokey, iridescent spin on red and green is certainly eyecatching.

I did use a discontinued Shadestick from MAC on my lid. This is optional but it worked perfectly with the Jesse's Girl Eye Dust. Any similar color eyeshadow or green base would work fine.

Glistening Gold Eyes

This glittery gold eye is very festive, yet still on the wearable side with Urban Decay's eyeshadow in Baked as the main color; it really can be worn anytime of year. It's just the most gorgeous gold. Topped with a little glitter liner, it created the most perfect golden eye.

Starry Night Eyes

I tend to stay away from extremely dark blues and silvers but I decided to give them another try with this look. Keeping the dark blue low on my lid, blending upward into a more skintoned color really seemed to work better for me rather than bringing the blue high up on my browbone.

With the added touch of sliver glitter this look would be perfect for a night out, especially with New Years coming up!

Sparkling Cranberry Eyes with Orange and Purple

Sparkling cranberry is a perfect color for this holiday season. Here, I used it with a touch of orange and purple to add some pizazz and tons of fun to it. The sparkle was achieved using MAC's Very Pink Reflects Glitter, wet, which makes for a gorgeous metallic sheen. Any pink glitter would work though, or it could be skipped altogether.

My Favorite Eye Brushes

I get asked a lot about the eye brushes I use most often. Most of what I have are MAC brushes but that by all means doesn't mean you have to use MAC as well. These are just what I've become accustomed to using. There are a lot of other brands with fabulous brushes, both more and less expensive. Honestly, what matters most is technique, not the price of the brush. Howewever, some types (not brands) of brushes make application easier and quicker

Also, I don't use all of these every day. It really depends on the look I'm doing as I'll explain. They all, however, are my favorites!

Dramatic Matte Eyes with Bold Lips

Another matte look, this time more on the dramatic side with bold red-orange lips.

Style Black: Young Punk and Fuchsia Pigment Eyes

Young Punk eyeshadow from the Style Black collection = ♥! It's like pressed glitter...can't get much better than that! It's a bit difficult to tell in the pictures but using a black base really made the pink reflects show up amazingly, especially in the sun.

In addition to Young Punk I also got Gilt by Association eyeshadow, Night Violet Mattene lipstick, Black Knight Creamsheen lipstick, and Blackware Glimmerglass. Luckily I was able to "Back 2 MAC" for the lip products. I am definitely in love with Style Black!
