MAC Mineralize SkinFinishes (collection, swatches, and details)

This is something that I'm going to do with each different aspect of my MAC collection. I'll show my collection, do swatches, and give a few details and tips. Since Color Craft was just released, I wanted to do my Mineralize SkinFinish (MSF) collection first.

Enjoy!

Mineralize Skinfinishes (aka MSFs)

MSFs are absolutely gorgeous for blush, highlight, or bronzer with a nice sheen. The more you buff these baked powders into the skin, the more they give the face a polished look. The MAC website has had a few MSFs consistently in stock, however nearly all of the colors are Limited Edition and sell out fast. However, you may still be able to find them on eBay (be careful of fake MAC) or other MAC communities like Specktra.

Side by side swatches:

From left to right:
MSF Duo in Medium, Soft and Gentle, Perfect Topping, Porcelain Pink, Smooth Merge (all 3 colors mixed), Cheeky Bronze, and So Ceylon

MSF Duo in Medium

Regular side (left), Shimmer side (Right)
The MSF duo was a Limited Edition product that MAC no longer carries. This product is half Mineralize SkinFinish Natural (MSFN) and half shimmer to be used as a face highlight. The shimmer side of this designed to go great with your skintone while still giving the polished sheen that MSFs are know for. I have at times even used this for a skintoned eyeshadow highlight as well. It works wonderfully for that!

Soft and Gentle

Part of the small group of colors that MAC consistently has in stock Soft and Gentle is a gilded peach gold MSF that might be a bit on the chunky side for some. However, if a little buffing, the chunkiness dissipates and turns into a smooth finish. The color is actually very similar to that of Jardin Aries pigment.

Perfect Topping

Perfect Topping is a Limited Edition color from the Sugarsweet Collection. It has the most lovely smooth texture and applies with such ease. The soft pinked lavender makes a great blush or cheek highlight, which is what I typically use it for.

Porcelain Pink

Porcelain Pink is a Limited re-release in the recent Color Craft collection. This has a similar texture to that of Perfect Topping; very smooth. The pink with gold veining goes on as a pinked coral with a golden tone. It is also lovely as a blush or cheek highlight.

Smooth Merge Trio

Individual color (first 3 swatches), Mixed (4th swatch)

Smooth Merge is also part of the Color Craft collection. However, unlike the other MSFs, this particular one is an MSF trio. Rather than a swirled pattern, these SkinFinishes are striped with three separate colors to be worn individually or mixed. Smooth Merge ranges from champagne to pink golds, and mixes to create a beautiful mauve.

Cheeky Bronze

From the Color Craft collection, Cheeky Bronze is my most favorite MSF. It's so easy and smooth to apply, needing very little buffing. Plus, the color is just perfect in my opinion. This golden coral is the perfect warm summer color to be used as a blush.

So Ceylon

Until recently, So Ceylon was also part of the few that MAC kept stocked on their website. This lovely reddish bronze color is the darkest of my MSF collection but I've still gotten quite a lot of use from it. It makes for a wonderful bronzer!

Like always, any questions...just ask! :)

Stay tuned for blushes coming up next...I don't have many but they're beautiful!
